Every Church has the same mission

“Go and make disciples of all nations;

baptize and teach them” 

Matthew 28:19-20 (paraphrase). 


But each Church has its own identity, its location and its culture. The 6 values will enrich our understanding of what makes Parkway uniquely suited to disciple the community we live in.

I want to know Christ better. 

I want to know the power that raised him from the dead. 

I want to join him in his sufferings. 

I want to become like him by sharing in his death. 

Then by God’s grace I will rise from the dead.

Pathway of Discipleship

We as disciples of Jesus are not called to recite or merely know the commands of Jesus, but we are to teach others how to observe what Jesus is calling us to. 



We do this by:

 

READing the historical and Holy Spirit inspired accounts of the bible.

 

Honestly expressing our hearts through PRAYer to God our creator.


LOVEing people, as we are all created in the image of God.

 

Genuinely SPEAKing of our faith in Jesus as son of God and saviour of the world.


READ

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching,

for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 

so that the man of God may be complete, 

equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16


PRAY


When you pray, don’t babble like the Gentiles, 

since they imagine they’ll be heard for their many words. 

Don’t be like them, because your Father knows

the things you need before you ask him.

Matthew 6:7-8


LOVE


Love the Lord your God with all your heart, 

with all your soul, and with all your mind. 

This is the greatest and most important command. 

The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. 

All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.

Matthew 22:37-40


SPEAK


Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, 

baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son

and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything

I have commanded you. I am with you always…
